Your Ultimate Farragut Summer Bucket List

Whether you’re a longtime local or visiting Farragut for the first time, this East Tennessee town blends small-town charm with outdoor adventure, live entertainment, local eats, and family-friendly fun. From scenic greenways to wine bars, Farragut offers plenty of ways to fill your weekend itinerary.

Here’s your ultimate Farragut bucket list for Summer 2026.

Catch Live Music at Red, White & Bluegrass

Nothing says summer in Tennessee quite like bluegrass music under the evening sky. This year’s Red, White & Bluegrass celebration brings music, food trucks, and patriotic fun to the heart of Farragut as part of America’s 250th anniversary festivities.

📍 Mayor Ralph McGill Plaza
🗓 June 13, 2026 | 6–9 PM

Bring lawn chairs, grab dinner from local food trucks, and enjoy one of Tennessee’s oldest musical traditions in a laid-back community setting.

Experience Fourth of July at the Independence Day Parade

There’s something timeless about a hometown parade, and Farragut’s annual Independence Day Parade delivers all the Americana charm you could ask for.

📍 Kingston Pike to Boring Road
🗓 July 4, 2026 | 9:30 AM–12 PM

Expect festive floats, marching bands, dancers, antique cars, and plenty of red, white, and blue spirit. Arrive early to claim a good viewing spot. Stay in town for lunch and grab a bite at one of our popular eateries like East Japanese Restaurant, 35 N Bar & Grill, or Admiral Pub.

Make a Splash at McFee Park

📍 917 McFee Road, Farragut, TN 37934

McFee Park is one of Farragut’s most-loved destinations for families and outdoor enthusiasts alike. It’s the kind of place where you can easily settle in for an entire afternoon, so it’s worth coming prepared with towels, bikes, sunscreen, and plenty of snacks.

One of the biggest draws is the free splash pad, which makes it especially popular during hot summer days. Beyond that, the park has basketball courts and tennis courts for anyone looking to stay active, along with a large playground that keeps kids entertained for hours. There are also pavilion rentals available if you’re planning a picnic, birthday gathering, or group meetup.

Explore Farragut’s Greenway Trails

Farragut boasts more than 25 greenway segments totaling nearly 20 miles of trails perfect for walking, running, biking, or rollerblading. A local favorite is the Grigsby Chapel Greenway, a 2.4-mile paved trail that connects neighborhoods, restaurants, and shopping areas.

Along the way, you can stop at local favorites like Water Into Wine, grab a casual slice or pie at Mellow Mushroom, or enjoy Thai dishes at Little Bangkok, all of which make it easy to pair time outdoors with a great meal nearby.

Build the Perfect Picnic at Euphoric Cheese Shop

Stop into Euphoric Cheese Shop and build the ultimate picnic board stacked with artisan cheeses, charcuterie, crackers, and all kinds of local goodies. Then take your spread out to one of Farragut’s parks or greenways and turn it into a laid-back summer moment.

For a picture-perfect spot, head over to Founders Park at Campbell Station, where you can settle in by the stream, kick off your shoes, and enjoy a slow, sunny afternoon with great food and even better scenery.

Sip Wine on the Patio at Sparrow Wine Bar

Looking for an elevated dining experience? Grab a seat outside at Sparrow Wine Bar and enjoy a glass of wine, small plates, and a cozy atmosphere perfect for date night or catching up with friends.

The patio is particularly inviting on warm summer evenings and welcomes dogs.

Spend an Afternoon at Sir Goony’s

Sir Goony’s Family Fun Center is the kind of place that instantly brings out a sense of nostalgia, no matter your age. It has that classic summer energy of a mini golf course where the goal is simple: have fun, stay a little longer than planned, and leave with plenty of great memories.

From the roar of go-karts racing around the track to the splash and excitement of water attractions on a hot afternoon, there’s always something happening that pulls you into the action. Add in paintball for a more adventurous twist and arcade-style games that keep the energy going between activities, and it becomes one of those spots where kids can run wild with excitement while adults are just as likely to get pulled right into the fun.

Dance the Night Away at Cotton Eyed Joe

No Farragut-area bucket list is complete without a night at Cotton Eyed Joe. Even if you’re not a country music fan, it’s one of those places that’s worth experiencing at least once just for the atmosphere alone. The energy inside is part honky-tonk, part concert hall, and part all-out party, with live country music and national touring acts setting the tone for the night.

What really makes it memorable, though, is how interactive and unexpected the experience can be. You might find yourself watching—or joining in on—line dancing lessons, catching a mechanical bull ride attempt that gets the whole crowd cheering, or stumbling into a night that even includes MMA events.

Inside, you can explore everything from Civil War artifacts and historic military displays to memorabilia honoring Admiral Farragut himself.

The experience continues outside at the Farragut Memorial Plaza, where the history carries into a quiet, reflective space that ties everything together. Best of all, admission and parking are always free, making it an easy and worthwhile stop to add to any summer itinerary.
